The monograph explores the peculiarities of the fascist foreign policy from the moment Mussolini came to power until the defeat of Italy in the war against Greece. The first volume analyzes the continuity of the imperialist course and the fascist innovations in the field of foreign policy. For the first time in national historiography, military mobilization measures and military planning in fascist Italy are being investigated. The author defends his version of the reasons for declaring Italy’s policy of “non-participation in war”. The work is based on a wide range of materials from the archives of Italy, the publication of documents and numerous domestic and foreign studies.
